Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 31, 2025

This Privacy Policy explains how FixMalware.com ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects information you provide when using our website and services.

1. Information We Collect

Order information: When you place an order we collect your name, email address, website URL, hosting provider, and payment confirmation details. We do not store full card numbers — payments are processed by Stripe or PayPal directly.

Contact forms: When you submit a contact or free-quote form we collect your name, email, and any details you provide.

Scanner usage: When you use the free scanner we log the URL scanned and the result. We do not link this to your identity unless you also submit a contact form.

Technical data: Standard server logs including IP address, browser type, and pages visited. This is used for security and diagnostics only.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To fulfil and communicate about your malware removal order
  • To send transactional emails (order confirmation, status updates)
  • To respond to contact and quote enquiries
  • To improve our service and detect abuse

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Credentials You Provide for Service Delivery

When you place a malware removal order, you may provide FTP, SFTP, or hosting panel credentials to allow our team to access your server. These credentials are:

  • Transmitted only over encrypted channels
  • Used exclusively for the purpose of your malware removal
  • Never stored after the job is completed
  • Never shared with any third party

We recommend creating a temporary access account for the duration of our work and revoking it upon completion.

4. Payment Processing

Payments are processed by Stripe and PayPal. We receive only payment confirmation and transaction IDs. We never see or store your full card number, expiry, or CVV. Please review Stripe's Privacy Policy and PayPal's Privacy Policy for details on how they handle your payment data.

5. Cookies

We use session cookies required for the operation of the website (e.g. to maintain form state and admin sessions). We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies.

6. Data Retention

Order records are retained for a minimum of 3 years for accounting and legal compliance. Contact form submissions are retained for 12 months. You may request deletion of your data by contacting us at [email protected].

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, email us at [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days.

8. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including SSL encryption, restricted admin access, and secure credential handling procedures.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
