Your Google results show Japanese text you didn't write. Your site is being used to sell counterfeit goods.
The Japanese SEO spam hack (sometimes called the "Japanese keyword hack") is one of the most frustrating infections because it's designed to be invisible to site owners. Attackers create thousands of hidden pages on your site filled with Japanese text promoting counterfeit luxury goods — handbags, watches, clothing.
These pages are cloaked: when Googlebot crawls them, it sees the spam content. When you visit the same URL, you see either your normal site or a 404 page. This makes detection difficult without checking Google Search Console or running a site:yourdomain.com search.
The attackers profit by using your domain's authority to rank their spam pages. Meanwhile, your legitimate pages lose rankings as Google's trust in your domain drops. The longer it runs, the harder recovery becomes.
Hackers injected hidden pages into your site that are only visible to search engine crawlers. These pages contain Japanese text promoting counterfeit goods. Google indexed these pages because they appeared to be part of your site. The pages are "cloaked" — you won't see them when visiting your own site normally.
After cleanup, we submit removal requests through Google Search Console. Most spam pages are de-indexed within 1-2 weeks. For sites with thousands of spam pages, full cleanup from Google's index can take 2-4 weeks. We monitor and follow up until all spam is gone.
The Japanese SEO hack typically enters through outdated WordPress plugins, weak passwords, or compromised hosting accounts. After cleanup, we harden your security: update everything, strengthen passwords, remove unused plugins/themes, and lock file permissions. We also recommend enabling two-factor authentication on your admin account.
The longer malware stays, the harder recovery becomes.
